Brief:
For the launch of its mid-segment phone, a minor update to the Oppo Reno 8, Oppo wanted attention on the device without over-indexing on new features.
Idea:
Instead of leading with a feature film, we chose to create a stunt that sparked buzz and curiosity. Ranbir Kapoor, Oppo’s long-time brand ambassador and famously absent from Instagram, was suddenly everywhere on social media. And more importantly, got people to notice the phone!
My role:
What began as a small scripted moment evolved into the stunt itself. Given Ranbir Kapoor’s clean, scandal-free image, the move surprised the country and triggered organic chatter across Bollywood media like Zoom TV, Red FM, and more. I ideated the stunt and co-wrote the film with my senior, Uddhav Parab.
