Water tankers meant to deliver relief during droughts end up wasting thousands of litres enroute due to something embarrassingly basic: leaking taps. Drivers already solve this with makeshift fixes, famously called as 'Jugaad' in India. The problem isn’t lack of intent - it’s lack of a simple, durable solution.
Idea
Ashok Leyland designed a universal, low-cost locking cap that stops water leakage from tanker taps. Inspired by driver jugaad, engineered for scale. A fix so practical it works across all tankers — even competitors’ — saving drinking water drop by drop.

• Water drips at about 1.3–2.1 psi
• A cap made from Camlock dust caps plus EPDM gaskets does the job
• Allows up to 5 psi of slosh spikes with 3 psi continuous limit
• Quick on-off locking, designed for all water tanker types
